Property Description

Tregarthen is a wonderful detached holiday property set in a prestigious location on the banks of the River Helford. Enjoy the huge outdoor swimming pool or relax and enjoy the picturesque setting from the balconies and patios - perfect for watching the sun set over the creeks. This is a magical location - holidaying in Helford Passage is like taking a step back in time to a golden age. A family friendly beach, ice cream kiosk selling postcards and souvenirs, lots of water activities and the famous Ferryboat Inn, a great place to relax al fresco and enjoy a drink or a meal whilst admiring the breathtaking setting. A small passenger ferry runs daily from here across to small, picturesque Helford village, where an array of ‘chocolate-box’ cottages sit on either side of the creek. Take the coastal path from Tregarthen to the sub-tropical gardens of Trebah, one of the most glorious gardens in Cornwall, or Glendurgan (NT) which is also within walking distance. The Helford river is popular for sailing and water sports, or head towards Gweek with its seal sanctuary, a most enchanting experience. Just a few minutes’ drive leads to Maenporth beach with its white sands and delightful beach café. Other attractions nearby include Falmouth with its marina, National Maritime Museum and Pendennis Castle, and the cathedral city of Truro which offers a theatre, cinema, shops, bars and restaurants. The area is ideal for touring the Lizard Peninsula - the sheltered coves and beaches of South Cornwall or the rugged north coast which is popular with surfers. Shop 100 yards, pub 50 yards.

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Excellent living accommodation i.e the large kitchen/lounge/dining area.very well equipped. Sept 2012.
  2. The property was perfect for 4 couples. The dishwasher was a bit difficult to get working consistently and the hot water failed on some occasions. The location was excellent with very good views. It was disappointing that there was not the option to heat the pool. Sept 2011.
  3. Excelled the photos on web site, super clean, flowers in both lounges, lacked for nothing. Sept 2010.
