One of a pair, Thatch Cottage is built from stone and cob and restored and equipped to a very high standard. The beautiful surrounding Devon countryside offers thatched cottages, lovely views, quiet villages and so much more within easy reach. Exmoor is nearby with waterfalls, walking, cycling, ponies and zoo. The excellent Tarka Trail for more car-free cycling and walking is 30 miles of former railway, with cycle hire, running around the Taw estuary only 20 minutes away. Also within easy reach are the many superb beaches of the Golden Coast of North Devon, Croyde, Saunton and Woolacombe, for sandcastles and surfing, several excellent golf courses including the championship links course at Saunton, fishing on the Taw, renowned gardens, NT properties and sleepy, unspoilt villages with inns. The historic market town of South Molton, the "gateway to Exmoor", is nearby, with its regular markets, tea shops, restaurants, antique shops and swimming pool. Barnstaple is within easy reach, with its cinema, theatre, pannier market and variety of shops. Highbullen Hotel (3 miles) offers a 20 metre indoor pool and good gym for a low daily fee. Thatch Cottage is in a truly wonderful holiday location for all interests. Shop 300 yards, village inn serving food 200 yards.
