Property Description

This large, detached, Scandinavian-style house is situated just 400m from the heart of the pretty spa town of Buxton. With its own large indoor heated swimming pool, cinema area with 7ft screen, games room, as well as open-plan style of living, Moorecroft offers the perfect family holiday base. The property is decorated and furnished to a high standard. Walk from the door into the hills or stroll into the delightful town with its spectacular pavilion gardens, opera house, shops and restaurants to cater for all tastes.
Beautiful scenery and places to visit are in abundance, from caverns to castles, and stately homes to cycling trails. The picturesque market towns of Bakewell and Ashbourne are both within a half hour’s drive. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and many quaint villages are well within easy reach. The cave village of Castleton and the plague village of Eyam are both a short drive away. Carsington Water is a must for water lovers and birdwatchers alike, whilst Monsal Dale is spectacular. Shop 400m, pubs 400m and restaurant 100m.

  1. Fabulous property in a central location. Ideal for access to Buxton and all its opportunities. Plenty of very nice eating places within walking distance. The property is beautiful and expect to spend a lot of time there as you find it very difficult to leave the pool especially if you have children!!! Hence if it rains most of the time its doesn’t really matter. Expensive but well worth a special occasion. Aug 2012.
  2. We wanted to rent a property for my husbands 60th birthday, which would be large enough for our whole family. Moorecroft more than met our requirements and we had a fantastic weekend of celebration. As the weather was not too good, the pool was a saviour! Everyone went swimming at least twice a day. The location was excellent too - only 5 minutes walk into the centre of Buxton. April 2012.
  3. Simply the best property we could have asked for! Having living space on the both floors is really useful, the pool was amazing, so warm and it being right inside the house is so handy (no cold walk outside here)! The cinema system is briliant, as is the pool table, kitchen has everyhting you coulkd need. There are not enough superlatives to describe this place! March 2012.

  7. This is a great property! The location means its a short walk down the hill to Buxton Town. Indoor pool fantastic even for small children as there is a small shallow section. The cinema screen is great. This property is a wonderful place for family gatherings and exploring the Peak District. Master en suite even has a jacuzzi bath. We would recommend anyone to stay at Moorcroft, you will love it - just like we did! Aug 2011.
  8. This is a luxury property in every sense and was exactly what we hoped for. Spacious with great facilities for families. The cinema room and games room were well used but the pool was the jewel in the crown, bigger than expected and just right from my 6 year old daughter to my 75 year old mum. Good location (although a bit of a hill to walk back from Buxton centre). July 2011.

  11. The best property we have stayed in. Lovely welcome on arrival. Spotless everywhere. Beds very comfortable. Cinema area was fantastic. Swimming pool amazing, always at a perfect temperature.   18. The property had a number of communal areas and was well maintained. The facilities, decor and furnishings were top notch and the best room in the house has to be the pool/sauna room. The open plan design worked well and the whole house itself felt very inviting, our party of 10 settled in in seconds. Jan 2010.
