Property Description

The romantic retreat of Hen Wrych Tower features a heavily carved king-size four-poster bed, Victorian-style bathroom and an open working fireplace. Four minutes from the beach and a mile from local pubs, restaurants and shops. Ideally placed for sightseeing, there is a golf course and walks within local woods and hills. Bodnant Gardens, Conwy and several castles are within short driving distance, and the Victorian seaside of Llandudno is easily accessible. Grade II* listed, the Tower overlooks the 500-year-old Hen Wrych Hall, once home to the poet Felicia Hemans, whose famous poem was The Boy Stood on the Burning Deck. A listed castelated limestone building, lovingly renovated with oak beams, it is set into the original boundary wall of Gwrych Castle. Shop 1 mile.

  2. Hen Wrych Hall Tower is a truly lovely place - you must visit! May 2012.
  3. The owners were friendly and helpful. The finishing touches and the welcome pack made us feel comfortable at once. A most enjoyable stay, would definitely recommend to friends. May 2012.
  4. The rennovation work done on the tower and decoration within has been done to a very high standard. The little extra touches left by the owners is a nice little touch. It is a romantic retreat. Is takes 20 minutes from the tower to walk to the nearest village. April 2012.
  5. Very good accommodation, only concerns were the fact it was on three levels with a large number of stairs. March 2012.
  6. The tower is beautiful inside and out - we had a wonderful time. March 2012.
  7. A magical place to stay and relax. A truly individual property. Feb 2012.
  8. We got married at Llandudno Town Hall and spent our honeymoon at Hen Wrych Tower. We could not have picked a better place to stay, as well as a romantic base, it was a godsend on our wedding day as it rained heavily and was very windy, so we could not take pictures outside, we set up our tripod and had all our wedding pictures indoors and everyone commented on how beautiful the backdrop was. Dave the owner, has obviously thought about first impressions and atmosphere of the Tower, as you are greeted by classical music as you enter, there is a pint of milk in the fridge along with a bottle of Bucks Fizz, there is tea, coffee, water, small bottle of wine to help you settle in a long with some biscuits. The photos on the website do not do the place justice and we were just wowed with how spacious and luxurious it was. I would definitely love to stay there again and we have highly recommended the place to our friends. Well done Dave and Pea for your artistic interior decoration. Nov 2011.
  9. Excellent accommodation just a couple of minute walk from the sea and with easy access to the main road. Oct 2011.
  10. We loved the tower. It was a beautifully appointed base to explore North Wales. So much thought has gone into making this a "fairytale castle". July 2011.
  11. Unique property, lovingly restored by the very friendly owners who live opposite in the hall. Real home from home! June 2011.
  12. This is an amazing place to stay A*************************. March 2011.

  16. Very good high class property, with excellent places to visit. Dec 2010.
  17. To escape from the hectic life, this is the place. To enter the building, turn off the mobile phone and relax by the open fire, soak in the beautiful bathroom, then have or go for a stroll, this is the place. Plus there are interesting places to see. Nov 2010.
  18. Stunning preparation, well built and stocked fireplace, and immaculate bath and bedroom. Perfectly decorated, and going from the comments left by previous guests, universally satisfying! Nov 2010.
  19. We thought the accommodation was exactly like it was advertised. Really clean and very cosy. We will definitely go back. Nov 2010.
