  1. This is by far the very best accommodation we have experienced in all of our 30 years travelling. I have no problem in recommending this property for any length of stay. May 2012.
  2. The Elbow is a beautifully converted property. The owners have put a great deal of thought into the decorations and the fittings and there are numerous friendly touches, such as home made cake and a tea tray awaiting you on arrival ! The owners are next door and are available to help with anything you might need. The property is in a very good location, with many of Dorset’s best attractions within easy reach. The Elbow is a lovely comfortable place to stay - definitely the best property we have found via your company. Aprill 2012.

  4. Property was a beautifully updated conversion, maintaining the best original features whilst incorporating all modern amenities. Very comfortable sitting room, well equipped kitchen & beautiful bathrooms. Location was excellent for coastal and inland walking with a number of other activities and sites to visit.   5. I cannot recommend this property high enough. The owners are incredibly hospitable and welcoming. The property itself is just out of this world - you are afforded every comfort and you want for nothing. My daughters really enjoyed exploring all the nooks and crannies of the property and we are just so glad to have found such a wonderful place. It’s in a very central location too, so you are able to choose from a whole host of different places to visit - we were never left wondering what to do; in fact we ran out of time and were left hungry for more. It’s all just so wonderful. We are definitely intending to return as soon as we are able. Feb 2012.

The owners were very helpful in suggesting places to visit when asked, and there was plenty of literature in the cottage giving details of what to see and where to go. The situation of the cottage makes it easy to visit all main attractions in both Dorset and Somerset. We would certainly recommend this property and hope to visit again in the future. July 2011.

  9. The Elbow is delightful. It has been restored - and is presented - to a high standard; bright, extremely comfortable, clean and well-equipped - totally charming. The owners were fabulous, very helpful and welcoming while not being obtrusive. The cottage is in a fantastic location and is a good base for exploring the lovely coast, rural Dorset and Somerset. It was great to return to truly relaxing accommodation and private garden after a day out. We enjoyed it so much we booked a second week! Highly recommended. June 2011.
  10. We were the second people to stay at The Elbow, and were cheerfully greeted by Jane. We found a freshly baked loaf of bread and lovely biscuits on our arrival, which we really enjoyed. The cottage was absolutely beautiful, spotlessly clean and very tastefully decorated; really homely. It was very spacious and everything that we needed was provided. The small elevated garden was very private and was especially nice in the late afternoon sun. We would highly recommend staying at The Elbow, not only for the accommodation, but also for its location close to the beautiful Jurassic Coast. We very much look forward to staying at the cottage again, and actually using the roll-top bath in the incredibly spacious en-suite bathroom!! We’d like to thank the owners for a perfect holiday.   4. This cottage felt like home. There were lots of board games and books for the kids, a fantastic open log fire to curl up in front of and a superb garden with treehouse, trampoline and access to the beach at Eype. Feb 2010.

We have visited this property 3 times recently and consider it of the highest quality and very comfortable, unfortunately we had to cut short our visit this time as my wife was taken ill, however, we received prompt and excellent help from the Health Centre in Yetminster, which was most reassuring.   6. The cottage was absolutely delightful. As others have said, the pictures don’t do it justice and the cottage has been re-thatched since the site/brochure photos were taken. The garden was huge and much bigger than expected. There was ample parking. The location provided quick access to the beach and it was easy to get to the supermarket in Bridport. Sept 2009.

  13. This is a wonderful house, very well appointed and full of thoughtful extras, for example picnic rugs. Everything, furnishings, beds, kitchen ware etc was of top quality. The garden is perfect, the trampoline and tree house brought hours of pleasure to the children. It’s a great house for mixed generations. We, the grandparents, loved our summerhouse hideaway with its comfortable bed and ensuite. Aug 2007.

  1. This house and the one next door are fantastic luxury family holiday homes if you are looking to stay in Swanage. I have stayed in both on several occasions. My family calls them ’Upsidedown House’ due to the bedrooms being downstairs and the living areas on the first floor with the amazing view over the bay. The house is very well equipped and spacious and it has always been immaculately clean when I have been there. The upstairs deck with the fantastic view is a real highlight as is the full size table tennis and table football tables in the garage/games room (useful when the weather isn’t so great). It’s a 3 minute walk into Swanage town and a few minutes more to the beach, although the walk back up the steep hill is a bit more effort. Overall this is a brilliant place to stay in Swanage, you won’t be disappointed. March 2012.
  2. We have been to Highview for the last four years, and every year the standard of accommodation is very high. Great location and great views.   4. I have rented this property or its next door neighbour for the past few years. I take my family and we also hire a beach hut for the week.The property is really a home from home with good kitchen equipment, a barbecue and even broadband! this comes in useful for my grandchildren with their ever present laptops. Its only a few minutes walk down to the beach and shops,although the climb back is rather steep,its all good for the figure! This is one of the best houses I’ve ever rented. July 2011.

  1. This accommodation was one of the best we have stayed in. One thing I would have liked was a larger refrigerator. There were nine of us staying in the cottage including a baby and we were constantly saying that we would have liked a larger refrigerator. Apart from this we would not wish to fault the property.   1. Great accommodation - very easy to make yourself at home. Facilities excellent - pool, laundry room, grounds etc. Good area for walking - woods accessible directly from the property. Lots to do around the area. Dec 2011.
  2. Very clean and modern and the kitchen was very well equipped. The property has a shared enclosed garden which was brilliant for our 3 & 4 year olds as they played with the other children there and it was safe. The facilities were excellent - indoor pool, games room and on-site chickens which laid eggs which we could have! Plus a veggie garden which also provided some produce. Could not fault the staff who were very helpful and polite. Definitely book again. July 2010.

As we have used your cottages in the past we are used to a very high standard of accommodation - which Mellchester was although my only criticism would be that it was a lot smaller than some of the similar 4 people places we’ve stayed in. However as it had so many facilities thrown in it was a great setting for not having to venture far to keep children occupied! Oct 2009.

This property was just so welcoming as soon as we walked through the door, everything and more was there for our comfort, even down to a few Xmas decorations to help the festive season get underway. Even the dogs were, well catered for with a big bed, toys, food and water bowls, towels and treats, and for the humans a lovely Apple cake BLISS. Dec 2012.

The garden was nice and secure for the dogs so we could relax when sitting outside in the garden. After staying in many properties with awful televisions it made a very nice change to have a large flat screen television on the wall in the lounge!   1. An extremely comfortable and well appointed cottage in a tranquil setting but within walking distance of the village pub and shop. The bedroom is accessed by a spiral staircase and the roof in the bedroom is low (I presume it was the old hay loft) so it was quite an adventure going to bed! June 2012.
  2. The accommodation was fantastic, very clean and everything you could need. Location great for visiting all Dorset attractions, owners very friendly. Overall great holiday and will be booking again. May 2012.
  3. Cosy and beautifully finished, this is a perfect retreat for couples. The surrounding countryside is lovely with lots of great pubs to visit, serving excellent food and beer! The cottage is great to come back to, cleverly designed to make the best use of space, and very cosy with the wood burning stove going. We came for our honeymoon and would definitely visit again! April 2012.
  4. Really well equipped kitchen - made cooking a pleasure! Location was excellent - very quiet & peaceful which made for a relaxing break. As bed is in the loft-space, ceiling’s very low which caused a fair bit of head hitting on it; especially as my partner’s 6’4’’! But the sofa-bed in the living area, provided a solution to that! Overall a great place - would definitely return there. April 2012.

  6. A wonderful little cottage with a very homely, yet very modern, feel. The cottage is small but surprisingly spacious. The mezzanine level bedroom may be a little tight for some due to the sloping room but it is still very comfortable. The friendly owners provided us welcome gifts such as fresh bread, banana cake and wine. The local pub - The Stocks Inn - does good pub grub and is very welcoming and well priced. Number 9 restaurant in Wimborne is pricey but well worth it. Overall, this cottage is truly a must see and stay. Jan 2012.
  7. The Stables is a very quiet and comfortable cottage. The owners Bob & Sue are very nice and there was a lovely welcome gift waiting for us. i would recommend this cottage to family and friends. Oct 2011.
  8. The cottage is beautiful, especially the woodburning stove. I particularly like the cottage as it is modern and very well equipped. the surrounding area is very picturesque. Sept 2011.
  9. Future customers need to be aware that the bedroom is an unusual shape, which means access to the bed from either side involves stooping at a 45 degree angle because of low, angled ceiling. Quaint, but mind your heads! However, the standard of the property is very good. Feb 2011.

  2. Malters Cottage was more than we had hoped and the owner was there to greet us with tea and cake - a very happy beginning. Such a lot of places to visit; we particularly enjoyed the journey on the steam train to Corfe Castle. All the local folk were so friendly and made us feel welcome at all times. The only downside to our visit was the weather, which was such a shame as it would have been even more special with some sunshine and warmth. June 2012.
